Summer Tips
Winter Tips
- Make sure your vent piping on the side of your house is free and clear of snow.
- Change your furnace air filter, if you did not replace it in the fall.
- Replace your humidifier panel/pad.
- To save energy, set your thermostat a few degrees lower at night.
Fall Tips
- Clean and replace your furnace filter.
- Change the batteries in your thermostat.
- Make sure the vent piping on the side of your house is clear.
- Check to make sure your furnace is working properly before the cold weather arrives.
Spring Tips
- Check your furnace filter - Keep in mind that your furnace blower runs the whole time your air conditioning is running, a dirty furnace filter can significantly labor the furnace and hinder the efficiency and cooling of your air conditioning.
- Clean and clear the air conditioner of any debris or obstructions - A broom and garden hose will do. You want to get the grass clippings, leaves and cottonwoods that are stuck to the top and sides of the unit cleared away. Sweep the bottom with a broom and the spray in downward direction with a wide angle spray from garden hose. Do not use a power washer as they can bend the fins.
- Check your electrical panel - Make sure the circuit breaker for the air conditioning is on. Turn on your air conditioner to make sure it is working, before it gets hot.
- Turn off your humidifier - Drain and clean out drum/reservoir style and shut off water supply to humidifier. Don't forget to close the bypass so that you don't have air going through it in the summertime.
